The city of Santa Fe was founded in 1573 and it is the capital city of the province which bears the same name. It is located in the northeast corner of Argentina, between the Salado River and the Setúbal lagoon, both tributaries of the Paraná River. Nowadays it has a population of around 500,000 people.
